The challenge

A protected site with zero digital infrastructure.

Klis Fortress is a centuries-old heritage site with significant historical and pop-culture relevance — known worldwide as an official Game of Thrones filming location. But as a protected environment, it operates under strict preservation constraints that make conventional digital installations impossible.

The site has no electrical grid connection, no network cabling, and no capacity for on-site operational staffing. Traditional self-service photo experiences simply don't work here. The gap between high visitor volume and zero digital content generation was the problem Look@ was brought in to solve.

This created a unique challenge: how to offer a modern visitor experience while preserving one of Croatia's most important heritage sites.

01
No fixed infrastructure

No electrical grid connections or network cabling available for standard digital installations.

02
No operational staffing

Continuous on-site management or maintenance of interactive systems is not feasible.

03
Non-invasive requirement

Any deployed system must preserve the structural and visual integrity of the historic stone architecture.

The deployment

Two complementary systems. One seamless experience.

A dual-hardware configuration was introduced to cover the entire visitor journey — from the open-air fortress walls to the interior exhibition spaces — without altering the protected environment.

System impact

Technology that visitors actually use.

Many digital attractions are installed. Few become part of the visitor journey.

At Klis Fortress, Look@ has become one of the most actively used visitor engagement experiences on-site. Through couples, families, school groups, and organised tours, more than 30% of all visitors appear in a Look@ photo each year.

The system operates within a protected heritage environment while transforming visitor traffic into measurable digital engagement without requiring infrastructure upgrades, operational staff, or changes to the historic site.

Proven visitor engagement

More than one in three fortress visitors becomes part of the experience, demonstrating exceptionally high participation for a self-service attraction.

Preservation without compromise

The deployment operates without construction work, network cabling, or visual impact on the protected architecture, preserving the site's historical integrity.

Continuous digital visibility

Every shared photo extends the reach of Klis Fortress beyond the physical visit, helping transform visitors into ambassadors for the destination.

Scalable without operations

The experience continues to generate value every day without requiring dedicated staff, daily setup, or ongoing operational resources.

Turn your visitors into an experience worth sharing.

Whether you're managing a fortress, museum, stadium, zoo, waterfront, city landmark, or tourism destination, Look@ helps transform visitor traffic into measurable engagement.
